Police Clearance Certificate

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)

The ‘Police Clearance Certificate’ for the Bangladeshi citizens residing overseas is issued from the respective Police Station in Bangladesh.

Before lodging police clearance application online, the applicants (only Bangladesh nationals) need to have their Bangladesh passport and an authorization letter verified by the Consulate General in Sydney.

Who can apply?

Bangladeshi nationals living in NSW & QLD can receive this service from the Consulate General. Applicants from all other states and territories are requested to contact Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra.

A. In Person Submission

Required Documents:

  1. Application form (duly completed and signed); [download application form]
  2. A passport-size coloured photo (not older than 6 months);
  3. Original Bangladesh passport (valid) and a photocopy of the bio-metric information page of the passport. In absence of original passport, photocopy of the biometric information page attested by a Justice of Peace (JP) is accepted;
  4. ‘Letter of Authorisation’; Click on the link for a template: Sample Authorization Letter
  5. Printed payment receipt if paid via bank transfer (EFT). Fees are also payable over the counter by debit/credit card. Please see ‘Fees and Payment’ section for detail.

 

Incomplete application or application with incorrect information or insufficient supporting papers will not be received or processed.

B. By Post/Mail:

  1. Documents listed above (from 1-4);
  2. Mail-in service registration from https://services.cgbdsydney.gov.bd/. Please print and include registration confirmation page with barcode with the application;
  3. Printed payment Receipt (Please see ‘Fees and Payment’ section for payment methods);
  4. Self-addressed pre-paid registered express return envelope (trackable). Please write your name and address on the recipient part.
Please send all required documents including photocopies along with the passport to the Consulate General. The original documents are returned to the applicant after service.
 
* Incomplete application form or application with incorrect information or insufficient supporting papers will not be processed and returned to the applicant via return mail.
 

*Special Notes (Please read carefully]:

  • Additional documents may be required. The Consulate General of Bangladesh reserves the right to seek any additional document at any stage of the application process.
  • Incomplete application form or application with incorrect information or insufficient supporting papers may be rejected without citing any reason thereof. The consular fee is non-refundable even if the service is rejected.
  • The Consulate General of Bangladesh reserves the right to withhold/cancel/reject any application without ascertaining any reason.

Please read carefully prior to proceeding further:

  1. Consular fees are received for processing applications. Hence, consular fees are non-refundable even if an application is rejected or withdrawn.
  2. Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra and Bangladesh Consulate General in Sydney are two separate entities. Service can’t be provided by the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Sydney against a payment made to the High Commission of Bangladesh in Canberra.
  3. Fees are subject to change without prior notice.
  4. The payment of the fee shall be made at least 03 working days prior to submitting the application form [In case of EFT].
  5. A copy of the payment transaction receipt shall be attached to the application form.
  6. Cash/personal cheque/Direct Deposit is NOT accepted.
  7. Credit card/EFTPOS payment is available at the consular counter. Transaction fee of the card company will be applied in addition to the consular fees.

Mode of payment

The fees may be paid in ONE of the following ways:

  1. Credit Card/EFTPOS payment at the Consulate’s service counter. [In such case, transaction surcharge of the respective card provider will be charged in addition to the consular fees];
  2. Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT);
  3. Postal Money Order/Bank Cheque payable to Consulate General of Bangladesh in Sydney;

 

Cash/personal cheque/Direct Deposit is NOT accepted.

Please visit the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Sydney (address provided below) on the day of appointment with all required documents and photocopies.

Postal Service:

  1. Send all required documents and a complete set of photocopies to the following address by registered mail/courier (Please check ‘Requirements’ section of this page for details).

Pick up/collection time: The attested documents will be ready for delivery on the same day. Please collect your documents between 3-4 pm on opening days from Monday to Friday.

The documents may be collected in ONE of the following ways:

  1. By the applicants themselves;
  2. By authorized representative. In this case, a signed authorization letter from the applicant will be required mentioning the nominated person’s name and photo ID such as driving license, passport etc.;
  3. By post. In this case, please submit a pre-paid express return envelope (signature on delivery) with the application.

  2. Get your attested documents scanned and ready during application. The attested documents will be required during online application process.
  3. Sign up for the account
  4. Follow the instructions on the website to continue with your application
  5. Upload all required documents
  6. Submit your application
  7. Follow up the updates by logging into the account.
  8. Authorized/Nominated person will be contacted by the respective Police Station to collect ‘Police Clearance Certificate’.
