Foreign nationals of Bangladeshi descent (except SAARC nations) are eligible to receive NVR on their foreign passports to enter Bangladesh. Their spouses (under certain conditions) and children also qualify for this endorsement. The NVR endorsement permits the holder multiple entries into Bangladesh with an unlimited duration of stay within the validity of the passport.


* NoteApplicants living only in NSW & Queensland are requested to apply for NO VISA REQUIRED to the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Sydney. Applicants from all other states and territories must submit their applications to the Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra.

Postal Service:

  1. Send all required documents along with a complete set of photocopies to the following address by registered mail/courier.

The delivery of the passport may be obtained in ONE of the following ways:

  1. By the applicant in person;
  2. By authorized person. In this case, a letter of authorization issued by the applicant as well as proof of identity of the authorized person (photo IDs such as driving license, passport etc.) shall be required in addition to the delivery slip;
  3. By postal mail. In this case, self-addressed pre-paid Express envelope/Courier (signature on delivery) is needed be sent to/ submitted at the Consulate while sending/submitting the application.
  4. Mail-in-Service registration’ is mandatory for postal service. Please register for the mail-in service using the URL provided below and attach the confirmation of registration (page with barcode) with your application.

Please read carefully before you pay the NVR fee:

  1. Consular fees are received for processing applications. Hence, consular fees are non-refundable even if an application is rejected or withdrawn.
  2. Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra and Bangladesh Consulate General in Sydney are two separate entities. Service can’t be provided by the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Sydney against a payment made to the High Commission of Bangladesh in Canberra.
  3. Fees are subject to change without prior notice.
  4. The payment of the fee shall be made at least 03 working days prior to submitting the application form [In case of EFT].
  5. A copy of the payment transaction receipt shall be attached to the application form.
  6. Cash/personal cheque/Direct Deposit is NOT accepted.
  7. Credit card/EFTPOS payment is possible at the consular counter. Transaction fee of the card company will be applied in addition to the consular fees.


NVR Fee: AU$ 70.00 (for both new and reissuance application)

The fees may be paid in ONE of the following ways:

  2. Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT);
  3. Postal Money Order/Bank Cheque payable to Consulate General of Bangladesh in Sydney;

Cash/personal cheque/Direct Deposit is NOT accepted.

The Consulate General does not provide any appointment over the phone or email. Please book your own appointment slot online from the above link of the Consulate’s website.

To receive a faster postal service, you must adhere to all rules and submit all documents appropriately.


Please follow the steps below for a successful application:


  1. Book an appointment online (please check requirements section) prior to visiting the Consulate for the service.
  2. Choose number of services carefully during the online appointment. For example, if there are 4 applicants, No. of services will be 4. 
  3. Please bring along all required documents [Original & photocopies].
  4. Arrive 10-15 minutes before the appointment time on the day. If appointment time is over, the appointment slot will be automatically deleted from the system and service cannot be processed with the same appointment.
  5. Keep your appointment tracking number handy before entering the premises.
  6. Collect a token from the Kiosk. Please ask for assistance if you have any confusion.
  7. Please take a seat in the waiting area and wait patiently until your token number is called by the Consular Assistants.
  8. Prepare and double check all documents before approaching the counter.
  9. Submit the documents to the consular counter.
  10. Respect the rules of the Consulate.
  11. Rest assured; leave the premises with peace of mind and collect the service during the delivery hours.
